Vikings @ Seahawks: Thursday Injury Reports

Updates from both teams on injury statuses

The Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks have issued their Thursday injury reports in advance of Sunday’s matchup. Here they are:

Minnesota Vikings

  • CB Fabian Moreau, Hip, DNP (did not practice)
  • DT Jalen Redmond, Concussion, DNP
  • S Harrison Smith, Foot, DNP
  • OLB Pat Jones II, Knee, LP (limited participant)
  • T Brian O’Neill, Knee, LP
  • DT Harrison Phillips, Knee, LP
  • T David Quessenberry, Oblique, FP (full participant)
  • CB Stephon Gilmore, Hamstring, FP
  • TE Josh Oliver, Wrist, FP
  • OLB Dallas Turner, Knee, FP

The big news from this injury report was Harrison Smith being downgraded to DNP in Thursday’s practice, which makes him more doubtful to play on Sunday. Dallas Turner, who was a late addition to yesterday’s injury list, was upgraded to FP, as was David Quessenberry. It looks more like there will be no Moreau or Redmond on Sunday. The rest seem likely to play at this point.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have some updates from yesterday:

  • RB Zach Charbonnet, Oblique, LP
  • TE Brady Russell, Foot, DNP
  • RB Kenneth Walker III, Calf, FP
  • WR D.K. Metcalf, Shoulder, FP
  • C Olu Oluwatimi, Knee, LP
  • DE Leanord Williams, Foot/NIR-Rest, DNP
  • CB Tre Brown, Hamstring, LP
  • G Laken Tomlinson, NIR-Rest, FP
  • WR Tyler Lockett, NIR-Rest, FP
  • NT Jarren Reed, NIR-Rest, FP
  • TE Noah Fant, Knee, FP
  • LB Ernest Jones IV, Knee, LP
  • LB Travis Gipson, Ankle, DNP
  • T Abraham Lucas, Knee/NIR-rest, DNP
  • TE A.J. Barner, Shoulder, FP
  • QB Geno Smith, Knee, FP
  • S K’Von Wallace, Ankle, FP
  • NT Johnathan Hankins, Illness/NIR-Rest, DNP

All of the veterans designated with rest days were full participants in Thursday’s practice, with the exception of DT Leonard WIlliams, who once again did not practice. Williams is Seattle’s best defensive lineman and has been dealing with this foot injury for several weeks. He’s been able to play through it in the past, but missing a second day of practice this week may cast some doubt on his availability on Sunday.

Both RBs Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet were upgraded to FP and LP respectively, and I would not be surprised if both were active on Sunday.

Center Olu Oluwatimi was also upgraded to LP, which is a positive sign for his availability on Sunday.

Starting right tackle Abraham Lucas was downgraded to DNP on Thursday, and NT Johnathan Hankins was added to the injury list with an illness/NIR-Rest and did not practice. Lucas is worth monitoring for his status tomorrow.

Bottom line with the Seahawks injury list, regardless of status and availability on Sunday, is that they’ve got a number of players that aren’t 100% and aren’t likely to be on Sunday either.
