Rams go into Week 16 against the Jets with a clean bill of health

The Los Angeles Rams will go into their Week 16 contest against the New York Jets with something they haven’t had for much of this season: a clean bill of health.

LA’s battle with injuries dates all the way back to training camp where Puka Nacua, Darious Williams, and multiple key offensive linemen missed time. The Rams lost multiple players in the season opener against the Detroit Lions, and largely they’ve spent the rest of the season working towards a return to health.

At the conclusion of the Week 16 practice week, the Rams officially don’t have a single player on the injury with a designation for Sunday’s game. Cobie Durant, who missed last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers with a bruised lung, is slated to return.

Tyler Higbee set to make 2024 debut

This weekend also brings the return of Tyler Higbee for the Rams. The veteran tight end suffered a major knee injury in last year’s wildcard matchup against the Lions, and he’s missed all but the final three regular season games.

Higbee is a welcome addition to the Rams offense, especially considering free agent acquisition Colby Parkinson and the rest of the group have failed to seize the reigns in Higbee’s absence.

They say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.

Will Higbee return to the starting lineup and a full workload for Los Angeles? He’s already the team’s record holder for career receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns by a tight end. He’ll be looking to add some cushion to his lead and keep his name in the record books.

News of note for the Jets

Two key starters are listed as questionable for this game on the New York side.

Alijah Vera-Tucker, a reliable guard on a strong interior Jets offensive line, is battling an ankle injury. He increased his practice load as the week progressed, so there’s reason to be optimistic that he can play.

Formidable defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has missed practice all week with a hamstring injury.
