What defines a “trap game” in the NFL? What defines “clickbait” in the modern era of information gathering, sharing and manipulation? Fair questions. I don’t have a specific answer. I suppose I could say, “I know it when I see it.” I don’t think that’s a great answer.
So, when the Los Angeles Rams take on the New York Jets on Sunday should it be considered a “trap game”?
In the NFL where every team is trying to be the best, and every franchise is in it for itself let me ask: What game isn’t a “trap game”?
Please comment on whatever you want, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and happy Thursday!
REPORT: Are the Rams Facing a Trap Game on Sunday? (si.com)
“Ben Rolfe of the Pro Football Network recently released his list of predictions for this weekend’s games. Surprisingly, he believes the Rams’ matchup with New York will be closer than many people think.
“The New York Jets have quietly been one of the more entertaining teams to watch over the last four games,” Rolfe said. “They have scored 26.5 points per game and allowed 27.8 points per game in that span. All four of those contests have been decided by one score and have been decided in the final minutes.”
New #Rams practice squad signing Rashad Weaver flashed Robert Quinn level potential back in 2022 in his four starts. However, he hasn’t had a start since. I really like the pickup for them. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him get on the field to end the year pic.twitter.com/K4UJzpvY1P

REPORT: Rams Make Roster Moves Ahead of Week 16 (si.com)
“McVay had called Higbee’s return just a week ago, saying: “None of it has been finalized yet but with the progress that he has made over the last couple weeks, the way he has looked at practice, I do expect him to be ready to go against the Jets.”
Higbee could be a necessary addition to the Rams’ current squad, adding some depth to the offensive game going into the team’s final three confirmed matchups. With Higbee being slated to come back, McVay has said that they will have things to evaluate in preparation for the game.”

What Happened the Last Time the Rams Played the Jets? (si.com)
“The Los Angeles Rams are going against the New York Jets this Sunday, Dec. 22, one of the Rams’ last three matches before the conclusion of the regular season. With the Jets being from the AFC East and the Rams being from the NFC West, the two teams’ paths do not cross often.
The last time the Rams and Jets faced off was in 2020, when the Jets managed to edge out the Rams by 3 to secure their first win of the season in their 15th week. In 2020, The Rams were spearheaded by head coach Sean McVay; the Jets by former head coach Adam Gase.”
