Will we see TB12 again?
Tim Boyle is the fourth quarterback to see the field for the New York Giants in this dismal 2024 season. Boyle played the second half of the Giants’ eighth home loss of the season as the Giants lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 35-14.
Boyle completed 12 of 24 passes for 123 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He averaged 5.1 yards per attempt, but the Giants completed several explosive plays and their first touchdown pass since Week 9. Malik Nabers was the recipient of the touchdown; his first since Week 3, one of the two Giants’ wins this season.
Boyle completed impressive passes in the second half of the blow-out loss. He threw a few passes with anticipation, showed velocity on far-hash throws, and paced the football well, while also using touch and accuracy with free rushers in his vicinity.
The Giants’ quarterback situation was so mismanaged and is in such turmoil that Boyle’s unspectacular, yet refreshing, performance is noteworthy. I’m interested to see if he’ll earn snaps over the next three games. On Monday, Daboll stated he hopes to get the quarterbacks healthy to make a decision on the starter moving forward. His comments insinuated that DeVito or Lock would start if healthy.
It’s another lost season for the Giants. Change could be right around the corner. But in the meantime, enjoy some TB12 tape:
