Las Vegas defense may catch a break to end season
The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-12 and have lost 10 straight games, their longest losing skid in 10 years.
The only thing left is to see if they can get the No. 1 overall pick. They are currently tied with the New York Giants for the worst record in the NFL. Yet, there are five teams with just three wins. So, it’s going to be a wild final three weeks of draft-pick jockeying.
While the Raiders don’t look capable of winning a game these days, they’re defense has been fighting and they may be playing backup quarterbacks the rest of the season, which could increase their chances of winning:
Week 16, Jacksonville Jaguars:
The Raiders will face Mac Jones, who is starting with Trevor Lawrence out for the rest of the season. Jones has some spunk, but he can also be a turnover machine. He has thrown a total of four interceptions the past two games. He is extremely beatable.
Week 17, New Orleans Saints:
The Raiders-Derek Carr reunion, which has been anticipated for nearly two years, is likely not to happen because he is hurt. Yet, Carr has is still trying to play. Still, it very well may be rookie Spencer Rattler who is facing the Silver and Black. Rattler replaced Jake Haener in Week 15 and made some plays. Still, he is a green rookie, so who knows what to expect from him.
Week 18, Los Angeles Chargers:
If the Chargers have a wild card berth secured, coach Jim Harbaugh may value rest of playoff seeding. thus, the Raiders could face Taylor Heinicke, He’s beatable.
Conclusion:
These quarterbacks could make the Raiders’ road to victory much easier.
