And he wants a steak.
The Cincinnati Bengals (6-8) won against the Tennessee Titans (3-11), but it wasn’t pretty.
We all saw how upset Joe Burrow was at the end of the victory.
And now Ja’Marr Chase is making it clear that Jordan Battle’s costly mistake isn’t something he wants to see again.
Battle, of course, returned a fumble 61 yards before attempting to switch hands and fumbling it right before the goal line. The ball would roll out of the end zone and result in a touchback for Tennessee.
But it doesn’t stop there. The superstar wide receiver wants Battle to atone for his sin.
“I told him he’s paying for my lunch later,” Chase said in an interview. When asked why, he replied, “Because we can’t have that… if you’re on defense, just run it in and then showboat after.”
And just what will that lunch be?
When asked if the lunch will be expensive, Chase said “yeah”. A reporter then said, “Steak on Jordan,” and Chase confirmed, “Steak on Jordan.”
Apparently, after Battle has paid his dues, things will be okay.
“I ain’t going to kill him for that,” said Chase. “It’s a lesson that he learned.”
Fortunately, the Bengals still had enough big plays on defense to win on the road.
Up next they face the Cleveland Browns (3-11) at home on Sunday.
