On Saturday, Kansas City hosts Houston for a Week 16 matchup.

Each practice day of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs release an official injury report leading up to the next game. On Saturday, Kansas City hosts the Houston Texans at noon Arrowhead Time.

Here is the Chiefs’ first official injury report of the week:

Chiefs

Player Ps Injury Tue Wed Thu Status
D.J. Humphries T Hamstring DNP
Chamarri Conner DB Concussion DNP
Patrick Mahomes QB Ankle FP
Hollywood Brown WR Shoulder FP
Creed Humphrey C Ankle FP
Jawaan Taylor T Knee FP
Harrison Butker K L. Knee FP

Texans

Player Ps Injury Tue Wed Thu Status
Davis Mills QB Illness DNP
Cade Stover TE Illness DNP
John Metchie III WR Shoulder DNP
Juice Scruggs C Foot DNP
Foley Fatukasi DT Ankle DNP
Del’Shawn Phillips LB Foot DNP
Joe Mixon RB Rest LP
Kenyon Green OT Shoulder FP

Some notes

  • Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was a full participant on Tuesday, a good sign for his chances to start against the Texans on Saturday. It is worth noting that Kansas City conducted a light practice to start the week.
  • As expected, both safety Chamarri Conner (concussion) and left tackle D.J. Humphries did not practice. Given the short week, it’s unlikely Conner will make it through the protocol in time for this game.
  • Kansas City listed four other players on their injury report, but they were full participants: offensive linemen Creed Humphrey (ankle) and Jawaan Taylor (knee), kicker Harrison Butker (left knee) and wide receiver Hollywood Brown (shoulder). Brown would need to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list if he plays in the game.
  • The Texans listed six players out of practice on Tuesday, including center Juice Scruggs (foot) and defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi (ankle). Scruggs missed the Texans last game against the Miami Dolphins due to injury, and Fatukasi played just six snaps before exiting the matchup.
