It was not a fun game to watch in week fifteen when the Miami Dolphins went on the road to face the Houston Texans — a team with a winning record that many thought Miami could actually topple. Instead, a turnover riddled 20-12 loss was delivered to the fanbase like a lump of coal unceremoniously gifted to an unruly child on Christmas morning.
But enough with the doom and gloom.
That’s not what this article is about. This article is about finding a diamond in an otherwise ROUGH game — and for that, we have to look to Miami’s rookie class.
Rookie left tackle Patrick Paul held his own against one of the best pass rushes in the league. Rookie wide receiver Malik Washington led the team with 52 receiving yards on the day. But it was rookie EDGE rusher Chop Robinson who took home this week’s Most Valuable ‘Phin award for another impressive showing on an already encouraging first campaign.

The future is bright for Robinson in Miami — as he notched another 1.5 sacks against the Texans on Sunday — giving him five sacks on the season and three in just his last three contests.
According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson was the Dolphins’ second highest graded player in week 15 — posting a 79.3 score for the game. He managed to get his 1.5 sacks while playing just 28 snaps on the day.
With an increased workload in the future, Robinson will soon become one of the National Football League’s most feared rushers by opposing quarterbacks, and that’s a silver lining we can cling to as we repeat the perpetually tired line, “There’s always next year.”
