Deep diving into the gut wrenching interception that changed the game for the Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders lost their ninth straight after last Sunday’s defeat. The Raiders were in the game, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers displaying heart in a lost season. However, it didn’t add up to win, losing 28-13, their ninth loss by more than ten points.
One reason for the Raiders’ struggles on offense with Scott Turner as the OC is the red zone. The Raiders are 28th in the league in red zone TD%, and the issues reared their head against the Buccaneers. Late in the third quarter, Aidan O’Connell threw an ugly interception inside the 15-yard line. It was the play that changed the game for the Raiders, as it was a gritty 12-play drive full of third-down conversions. Instead, it was a deflating pick thrown by O’Connell, and the Raiders offense never got back on track.
Below is a breakdown of the play and what went wrong for O’Connell. Check it out below and leave a comment on the game-altering play.
