John Mara should resist the tempting urge to fire Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen | New York Post
Mark Cannizzaro makes the argument for retaining the current Giant’s leadership
Warning to all disgruntled Giants fans: This is not going to be a popular take.
John Mara should retain Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll despite the rampant disappointment of the past two seasons. Continuity is key in the NFL, and the Giants need it right now.
Although the 2-11 record this season might suggest otherwise, the positives Schoen, the general manager, and Daboll, the head coach, bring outweigh the negatives.

Inside the Numbers: Rookies Malik Nabers, Tyrone Tracy Jr. lead the way | Giants.com
Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy have established themselves as one of the most prolific rookie tandems in Giants history.
Nabers, the wide receiver selected sixth in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, leads the Giants with 80 catches, 819 yards and three touchdown receptions. Tracy is first on the team with 141 rushing attempts, 664 yards and five scores, including the Giants’ only touchdown in a 14-11 loss Sunday to the New Orleans Saints. The Giants are the first NFL team to have rookies lead in all those statistical categories since…the Giants, in 2014, when the players were Odell Beckham, Jr. and Andre Williams.
Giants can set several unwanted franchise records vs. Baltimore Ravens | USAToday.com
One record they are closing in on is consecutive losses. They are currently on an eight-game skid and face the explosive Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens as 14.5-point underdogs this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The franchise record for consecutive losses is nine, first set in 1976 and then tied in 2003-2004 and again in 2019.
The Giants are also on the verge of setting a record for home losses in a season. They are 0-7 this year with two games remaining. They are currently tied for the franchise record, which was set back in 1974 and equaled in both 1983 and 2003.
Why Tommy DeVito Got Just One Snap in Giants’ 14-11 Loss to Saints | SI.com
Head coach Brian Daboll was asked why DeVito came in for only one play and if it had anything to do with Lock having been injured or an equipment issue.
“We had a few plays for Tommy in this game,” Daboll revealed. “We only got to the one. It happened to be a kind of zone read, but it wasn’t just all zone reads. It was a few plays in there.”

NFL head coach hot seat rankings: Brian Daboll rises amid Giants’ embarrassing fall | FOX Sports
2. Brian Daboll, New York Giants (Previous ranking: 3rd). He has been rocketing up this list the last few weeks and if it wasn’t for the fact that he got the dreaded “vote of confidence” from owner John Mara a few weeks ago, he might be No. 1. Multiple sources continue to insist that Mara really doesn’t want to fire another head coach. But they all add in a similar caveat of “unless he’s embarrassed.”
The worst part for Daboll is that he was hired for his offensive mind and the Giants are averaging 14.9 points per game this season — 2.1 points fewer than any other team in the league. They’ve obviously had quarterback issues and injury issues, but it still doesn’t speak well of his coaching ability.
Giants players trying to look at ‘big picture’ as fans turn to John Mara to fix mess | New York Post
“There’s always a bigger picture,” outside linebacker Brian Burns said. “I’m trying to get the guys to understand there’s a bigger picture than what we got going on right now. Obviously it’s just falling in love with the process of getting better, especially these young guys. We got a lot of young guys playing on this defense and they need to evolve. And it’s not just for themselves, but also for the future, next year.”
So you are saying there is a chance
Per @PFN365, the #NYG have — by far — the best chance at the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft at 38.9%. The Patriots are next at 18%, with the Raiders at 16.6%.

Early ‘or’ 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Choosing between prospects for every team | PFF
2. New York Giants: QB Cam Ward OR CB Will Johnson. With Sanders potentially off the board at this slot, the Giants could lean toward Miami’s Cam Ward, who has honed his game in his final college season. His 92.5 PFF overall grade ranks second among qualified quarterbacks, and his 28 big-time throws are tied for the third most. Ward will face questions about holding onto the ball too long (2.91-second average time to throw), but he’s still a touted prospect.
Will Johnson missed considerable time due to injury this year, but he’s never accrued below a 75.4 PFF overall grade in any college season. Johnson remains the highest-graded true cornerback on PFF’s Big Board, not to mention the No. 6 overall prospect.
2025 NFL draft order projections: Patriots, Giants at top | ESPN.com
1. New York Giants (2-11, last week No. 2). Average draft position: 2.6 (last week 3.1). FPI chance to earn No. 1 pick: 41.0% (31.1%). FPI chance to earn top-five pick: 90.5%(85.3%). FPI chance to earn top-10 pick: 99.9% (99.6%)

Justin Tucker Is ‘In a Great Place’ After Working Through Bye | BaltimoreRavens.com
In the midst of the toughest stretch of his career and coming off three misses, including an extra point, in the Ravens’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Justin Tucker said he stayed around the Under Armour Performance Center during his time off.
“[I feel] very good. Ready to go,” Tucker said Monday. “I was here all week, for the most part, anyways – in and out of the building. It’s good to come back in and see everybody; getting in the meeting room; get out on the practice field and just get right back to work.”
4 reasons why Ravens can make a Super Bowl run and 4 potential flaws | Baltimore Beatdown
Lamar Jackson: The Ravens are blessed to have one of the best quarterbacks in the league as the face of their franchise. Anytime he touches the field, they have a chance to win. Unlike the Philadelphia Eagles or Detroit Lions who don’t have quarterback-centric offense, it is a rare feat when the Ravens win a game where Jackson isn’t the focal point or significant catalyst to their victory.
