The former Bengals OC had high praise for his former players.

Brian Callahan is in the midst of game planning against the quarterback he worked side-by-side for four seasons.

The former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator is now the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, who will welcome Cincinnati and Joe Burrow to town on Sunday.

Ahead of the contest, Callahan endorsed Burrow for the NFL MVP Award.

“I think Joe’s playing the position as good as anybody in the NFL right now. If I had a vote, he’d be my MVP,” Callahan told reporters in Nashville. “I can’t see anyone playing quarterback playing better than he is right now.”

It’s hard to argue with the former Bengals OC, who thinks Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday.

“I told them at some point, I’ll look back, and they’ll both be in the (Pro Football) Hall of Fame. I’ll get to say I was a part of their journey,” Callahan exclaimed. “They’ve only gotten better. It’s fun to watch and terrifying to get ready for.”

Burrow leads the NFL with 3,706 passing yards and 33 touchdowns through 13 games. The team’s offense is ranked ninth in the league, averaging 361.9 yards per game.

The biggest thing keeping Burrow from being the odds-on favorite is that Cincinnati has just a 5-8 record and will likely miss the postseason for a second straight season.

Draft Kings has Burrow’s MVP odds at +10000 behind Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Jarred Goff, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels and Jalen Hurts.

As for Chase, he leads the NFL in receiving yards (1,319), catches (93), and receiving scores (15). This has been a season in which he’s made a very strong case he’s the NFL’s best wide receiver.

Here’s to hoping the Bengals can get a deal done with him this offseason.
