The vibes in Philly were just too good, weren’t they?
The Philadelphia Eagles are 11-2, have won nine games in a row, have clinched a playoff spot, and are a full three games up on the Washington Commanders for an NFC East title. One would assume then that things were going swimmingly in Philadelphia and that the vibes were at a season-long high, right?
WRONG!
You idiot, you absolute buffoon! How could you think the Philadelphia Eagles, of all teams, would be in the midst of a franchise-record winning streak and everything would be copacetic? After eking out a victory at home on Sunday over the lowly (but improving!) Carolina Panthers the Eagles appeared to enter some alternate reality where actually they lost and also have a losing record.
How else can you explain star wide receiver A.J. Brown and star quarterback Jalen Hurts apparently being at odds (for the second straight season, mind you) despite the team winning? After the game on Sunday, Brown was asked what could the offense improve upon and he said, “passing.”
Now, Brown isn’t wrong per se. Hurts only threw for 108 yards in the win over the Panthers, but overall Hurts and the Eagles passing offense have been pretty good this year. On Monday night, adding fuel to the fire, veteran defensive end Brandon Graham was on WIP and said “[Hurts and Brown] was friends before this, but things have changed.”
If you’re thinking to yourself “where have I seen this before?” allow me to refresh your memory. Here’s former Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens talking about “knocking the Chunky Soup out of” former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in 2021, here is Owens bringing up his feud with McNabb in 2022 in regards to comments made by DeSean Jackson about Michael Vick, and here’s McNabb talking about T.O. in 2006 after Owens said the Birds would’ve been better with Brett Favre at QB in 2004 among many other things.
That brings us to Monday night when Owens tweeted:
Now this is interesting is coming from you. Not how I interpreted it but funny thing is, I agree with you on the idea of if you have issue with someone that you go to them and not the media but here’s the thing I ‘never’ had an issue with you but it’s known that you had an issue with me so maybe you should’ve taken your advice here. Oh yeh…And we might have won Super 39 but that’s another story for another day. #justmy2cents
You gave yours, I’m giving mine.
Hey @fmitchell84! Thanks for sharing.

Owens was tweeting that in response to what McNabb had said on WIP earlier in the day, which the WIP account posted later: “It’s two grown men. If you got an issue, you come to me. Let’s not go through the media[…]because now it blows up and[…]now what you said is out there in front of everybody.”
T.O. went on to retweet a couple of posts agreeing with him and then also posted an encouraging message, tagging DeVonta Smith, Hurts, Brown, and Saquon Barkley, telling them to “block out the noise and keep doing y’all thing!”
Wow, what an exciting night for Philadelphia! Decades old beef, newly broken friendships, Freddie Mitchell!! This story has it all!!! Hopefully it ends with a Super Bowl parade down Broad Street where Hurts and Brown don’t ride on the same float and everyone freaks out again.
