Weekly check in on Philadelphia’s 2024 NFL Draft class.
The Eagles barely escaped a scrappy Panthers team to get their 11th win of the season. It was a rough showing from a handful of Eagles players, but the team got some encouraging play from a key rookie.
Quinyon Mitchell: B-
Hardly Quinyon Mitchell’s best game. The rookie corner gave up a few catches against a less than stellar Panthers passing game. He still held it down for the majority of the game, but it wasn’t the dominant performance we’ve become used to.
Cooper DeJean: C-
Maybe Cooper DeJean’s worst game yet. DeJean had a handful of missed tackles and got picked apart in coverage, giving up six catches on seven targets. DeJean got pressure on a blitz, which is notable, but overall not a great showing from the Eagles budding star.
Jalyx Hunt: B+
The Eagles needed some juice from Jalyx Hunt and juice they got! Hunt played 36 defensive snaps, evenly split between reps against the run and rushing the passer. Hunt did his best work on passing down, generating some legitimate pressure on Bryce Young despite facing a solid Panthers offensive line. This was exactly the type of game the Eagles needed to see from Hunt at this juncture. He showed he can be more consistent in creating problems for opposing offenses. Hopefully there’s more growth from here.
