Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/9/24
The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen threw everything they had and the kitchen sink at the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday but somehow someway it was the Rams who found a way to win the shootout. Allen ran for three touchdowns, threw three touchdowns and played out of his mind.
It’s a big win for the Rams as they took on a top team in the NFL and won. They also got punched in the mouth more than once in this contest and they still found a way.
The Bills squander a 6 touchdown performance by Josh Allen as their defense has a historically bad performance in a 44-42 loss against the Rams…

Bills vs. Rams score: Los Angeles fends off Josh Allen’s six-TD performance to keep playoff hopes alive (cbssports)
“The Los Angeles Rams have clawed back above .500 and helped keep their playoff hopes alive after upsetting the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium, 44-42.
This matchup was a clash of two high-powered offenses, and there was no shortage of points. Out of the shoot, these teams cruised up and down the field, scoring on their opening possessions and largely matched one another throughout the contest. The Rams entered halftime with a double-digit lead, but the Bills continued to hang around and make a surge in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to just three points.”

NFL Week 14 grades: Rams earn high mark for upset win over Bills, Steelers get ‘A-’ for beating Browns (cbssports.com)
“With their backs against the wall in the NFC playoff race, the Rams turned to their not-so-secret weapons: Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. Nacua torched the Bills defense for 162 yards and a touchdown on 12 catches. Not to be outdone, Kupp also went off with 92 yards and a touchdown. Nacua and Kupp made life easier for Matthew Stafford, who threw for 320 yards in this high-scoring shootout. As good as the offense was, the Rams still needed some help to win and that came from their special teams. Hunter Long returned a blocked punt for a TD that put L.A. in control of the game. The Rams got hot at the end of the season last year and rode that momentum to the playoffs and this year’s team is trying to do the same thing. And after this win, it seems like anything is possible for the Rams.”
