Quarterback could be out for the season with an injury
Week 14 was a tough one to be associated with the Las Vegas Raiders. Not only the did Raiders drop another game, but former Raiders Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams had tough weekends as well.
Derek Carr
- Stats: 20/31, 219 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 2 carries, 12 rushing yards
- Game result: 14-11, Saints win
While the Saints managed to win, the bigger story for New Orleans is Carr’s health. The Saints called a read option with Carr late in the game and, attempting to pick up the first down, he jumped/tried to hurdle a defender and stuck his left arm out while landing. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the fear is the quarterback fractured his non-throwing hand.
The good news for Carr is the injury will reportedly be week-to-week and Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said he doesn’t anticipate Carr landing on injured reserve, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. Terrell also reported the Raiders’ franchise passing leader is in concussion protocol, but the door is left open for him to play in the Week 17 revenge game.

Josh Jacobs
- Stats: 18 carries, 66 yards, 3 TDs
- Game result: Packers lose 34-31
Jacobs participated in the game of the week but was on the losing end of the contest. Dan Campbell’s willingness to go for it on fourth down was the difference as the Lions converted four out of five attempts. That virtually takes Green Bay out of the NFC North race, but the team firmly holds a Wild Card spot heading into the final month of the regular season.
Meanwhile, Jacobs’ three rushing touchdowns put him one away from tying a career-high as he had 12 in 2020 and 2022 with the Silver and Black. Additionally, the former rushing champ eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth time in six seasons.

Davante Adams
- Stats: 9 catches, 109 yards, 1 TD
- Game result: 32-26 Jets lose in OT
Adams had his most productive outing as a Jet and recorded triple-digit receiving yards for the first time since Week 2 in the Raiders’ upset over the Ravens. However, it came in a losing effort as the Jets blew two second-half leads and fell to 3-10 on the season.
That officially eliminates New York from the playoffs, meaning Las Vegas will receive a third-round pick for the wideout. Unless Adams’ 58 catches for 662 yards and four touchdowns are good enough to earn an All-Pro bid, but I’ll go out on a limb and say that those numbers won’t be…
