Another record-breaking performance by Philadelphia’s running back.
Saquon Barkley entered the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 14 game against the Carolina Panthers 109 yards shy of surpassing LeSean McCoy as the Eagles’ single-season rushing leader.
As expected, Barkley took advantage of the NFL’s worst run defense to make history at Lincoln Financial Field.
It only took 13 games for Barkley to break a record that McCoy set in 16 regular season games. With four games left to play, Barkley has a chance to significantly extend his franchise lead as he also chases Eric Dickerson’s NFL single-season rushing record at 2,105 yards.
There was no shortage of excitement when the Eagles signed Barkley back in March but him having THIS kind of success was hardly a foregone conclusion. It’s been a real special year for No. 26 that could potentially be capped off with an MVP award … and perhaps a Vince Lombardi Trophy?
