Vikings Fans Split On Clinching Playoff Spot in Week 14

The results are in for our SB Nation Reacts poll questions for Week 14, so let’s take a look at what everyone thinks about what our Minnesota Vikings are doing.

As usual, we kick things off with our question about whether or not you feel the Vikings are moving in the right direction. With a fifth consecutive win in their pockets, fans think things are going pretty well for our favorite squad.

After the victory over Arizona this past Sunday, we are up to 95% of our respondents who feel that the team is going in the right direction. This isn’t the high-water mark for the team in this category, as they were hovering in the 97-98% range earlier in the season, but it’s an acknowledgment that the Vikings are putting together what could be a pretty special season so far.

We also asked whether or not our readers feel the Vikings will wrap up a spot in this year’s NFL Playoffs this week. The easiest scenario for that (ie. a scenario that doesn’t involve ties) would require the Vikings to beat Atlanta this weekend and for Arizona and the Rams to lose to the Seahawks and Bills, respectively. There was a pretty even split on this one, but the pessimists won out by the slightest amount.

Of those who responded to our poll, just 49% believe that the Vikings will officially be in the playoffs by the time Week 14 ends. If I had to venture a guess, I don’t think fans are as concerned about Minnesota holding up their end of the bargain as they likely are about the other two things that would have to bounce the right way in order to make it happen.

Last, but not least, we’ve got a look at where the money for this weekend’s matchup between the Vikings and the Falcons is going from our friends at FanDuel. As has been the case the past few weeks, the majority of folks appear to be betting on purple.

Of those who are reportedly wagering on this one, a full 80% expect the Vikings to cover this week’s point spread, which remains unchanged with the Vikings as a 4.5-point favorite.
