Week 14 game status updates.
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 14 home game against the Carolina Panthers.
The big news is that DeVonta Smith and Darius Slay are listed without game statuses.
Smith, who was a full participant in practice this week, is set to play for the first time since Week 11. The Eagles’ passing attack stands to benefit from his return.
Slay will play after missing Week 13 due to a concussion. The starting cornerback’s return sends Isaiah Rodgers back to the bench.
The Eagles ruled four players OUT: Dallas Goedert, Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, and Britain Covey.
Goedert is reportedly set to miss multiple games due to a knee injury. It’ll be interesting to see if the Eagles put him on injured reserve prior to 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday or just keep him on the roster. If the latter comes to pass, there’s hope that Goedert will miss fewer than four games. Grant Calcaterra will take over at the Eagles’ top tight end with C.J. Uzomah serving as TE2. The Eagles could also look to temporarily elevate Khari Blasingame from the practice squad to play a TE3/fullback role.
Neither Blankenship nor Brown practiced this week. The Eagles have just two healthy safeties on the active roster: C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Tristin McCollum. The latter is poised to make his first NFL start on Sunday. McCollum did some good things in training camp practices/preseason games and he also had a big pass breakup last weekend. Avonte Maddox figures to provide depth at safety. The Eagles could also look to temporarily elevate Andre’ Sam from the practice squad.
Covey was listed under DNP for Wednesday and then limited on Thursday and Friday. His absence means the Eagles will likely go back to using Cooper DeJean as their punt returner.
Johnny Wilson is notably listed without a game status after being listed as limited on Wednesday and Thursday. The rookie wide receiver was full go on Friday. And so the Eagles will have DeVonta, A.J. Brown, Jahan Dotson, Ainias Smith, and Wilson available at WR on Sunday.

Huff is eligible to return after Week 15, though it’s not yet clear if he’ll be healthy enough to play by then. Young and Bradberry are eligible to be activated if/when the Eagles desire to activate them. Graham is out for the season due to a triceps injury. BVS is out for the season due to a knee injury. Clark is out for the season since he was placed on IR back in May.
CAROLINA PANTHERS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)
The Panthers ruled one player DOUBTFUL: rookie wide receiver Jalen Coker.
Coker has trended in the wrong direction this week, going from full on Wednesday to limited on Thursday to not practicing on Friday. Coker leads the Panthers in yards per reception this season with 15.5. His absence leaves Carolina even thinner at wide receiver.
The Panthers ruled seven players QUESTIONABLE: starting right guard Robert Hunt, sack leader Jadeveon Clowney, starting edge rusher D.J. Wonnum, top tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, top linebacker Josey Jewell, starting safety Nick Scott, and backup cornerback Caleb Farley.
Hunt is an unexpected addition to Friday’s injury report; he was listed under full participation due to a back injury. If the issue wasn’t enough to limit him, one would guess he’ll be OK to play. But his status bears monitoring since his absence would be a big blow to the Panthers’ offensive line.
Clowney did not practice this week. Players who don’t practice at all typically don’t play but Panthers head coach Dave Canales said he expects Clowney to be available.
Wonnum was a full participant on Friday. Guessing he’ll be ready to go. Ditto for Sanders and Farley.
Jewell was limited on Wednesday, DNP on Thursday, and limited again on Friday. He might be able to suit up, albeit at less than 100%.
Scott is eligible to be activated from injured reserve. He was full go on Wednesday and Thursday but he missed Friday’s practice due to personal reasons.
