The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers will kick off Week 14 on Thursday Night Football.
One of the oldest rivalries in the NFL will be renewed tonight, with the NFC North potentially on the line.
The Lions are the class of the NFC this year, with an 11-1 record and riding a 10-game winning streak. The Packers, meanwhile are 3rd in a highly competitive NFC North with a 9-3 record and a 3-game winning streak.
This promises to be an excellent game that pits two of the best teams in the NFL against each other.
Chris’ pick: The Lions are 3.5-point favorites at home this week, and I have to go with them.
Jared Goff isn’t as physically talented as Jordan Love, but he’s consistent and is executing the offense at a very high level. Combine that with a potent running game and one of the NFL’s best defenses, and the Lions are a tough matchup for anyone.
Detroit is coming off of a close call with the Chicago Bears, and that actually does give reason to go with Green Bay in this game. However, I don’t expect Detroit to have the same problems twice. This will be a tough, competitive game from start to finish, and I expect the team that makes fewer mistakes to win. Considering how volatile Jordan Love’s game can be, that’s why I’m going with the Lions.
