The Eagles’ NFL MVP candidate continues to rack up awards.
Saquon Barkley is NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November, according to an official league announcement.
Barkley’s combined stats from Philadelphia Eagles wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, and Baltimore Ravens last month:
- Rushing — 93 carries, 626 yards (6.7 average), 5 touchdowns
- Receiving — 12 targets, 10 receptions, 151 yards, 1 touchdown
If my calculations are correct, that’s 103 total touches for 777 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. Pretty decent!
Barkley won NFC Offensive Player of the Week twice in November, bringing him up to four times on the season. He’s one more POTW award away from tying the single-season NFL record also held by Tom Brady, Cam Newton, and Lamar Jackson.
This POTM award marks the first in Barkley’s career. He’s the first Eagle to win a POTM award since Haason Reddick last did it in December 2022. He’s the first Eagle to win Offensive POTM since Jalen Hurts in September 2022. He’s the first Eagles running back to win Offensive POTM since LeSean McCoy in December 2013.
This honor only helps to strengthen Barkley’s MVP case. At the very least, he’s done enough to lock up Offensive Player of the Year.
