Thursday’s news and updates.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report on Thursday in advance of their Week 14 home game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles listed three players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Dallas Goedert, Reed Blankenship, and Sydney Brown.

Goedert is reportedly set to miss multiple games due to a knee injury. The Eagles will go with Grant Calcaterra and C.J. Uzomah as their tight ends. Newly signed Khari Blasingame could be temporarily elevated from the practice squad to help serve as TE3 in addition to playing fullback. The Eagles might also opt to use a sixth offensive lineman as a blocking tight end at times like they did with Tyler Steen after Goedert got hurt in Week 13.

Blankenship missed practice for the second day in a row while still in concussion protocol. He’s on track to miss Sunday’s game.

Brown also missed practice for the second day in a row. If both Blankenship and Brown can’t play, the Eagles are down to just two healthy safeties on the active roster: C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Tristin McCollum. Backup nickel cornerback Avonte Maddox spent time cross-training at safety in the offseason so he’ll likely be a depth option. The Eagles could also look to temporarily elevate Andre’ Sam from the practice squad.

The Eagles listed two players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Britain Covey and Johnny Wilson.

Covey was upgraded to limited after being listed under DNP for Wednesday’s practice due to a neck injury. Seems like the Eagles might have their primary punt returner/rotational receiver available for this game.

Wilson was limited for the second day in a row due to hamstring injury. He could be able to play this weekend but the Eagles might want to err on the side of caution here. We’ll find out more about his status through Friday’s final injury report.

The Eagles listed six players under FULL PARTICIPATION: DeVonta Smith, Darius Slay, Saquon Barkley, Jalen Carter, Mekhi Becton, and Josh Sweat.

Smith was listed as full go for the second day in a row. He’s on track to play for the first time since Week 11 (November 14). The Eagles will at least have DeVonta, A.J. Brown, Jahan Dotson, and Ainias Smith available at wide receiver.

Slay was full go for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 12. The veteran starting cornerback is on track to return after missing Week 13.

Barkley, Carter, Becton, and Sweat were all upgraded to full after being listed as limited on Wednesday due to rest. They’re ready to roll.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

S Reed Blankenship (concussion)
S Sydney Brown (knee)
TE Dallas Goedert (knee)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

WR Britain Covey (neck)
WR Johnny Wilson (hamstring)

FULL PARTICIPATION

RB Saquon Barkley (rest)
OG Mekhi Becton (knee/rest)
DT Jalen Carter (rest)
CB Darius Slay (concussion)
WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring)
DE Josh Sweat (rest)

CAROLINA PANTHERS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)

The Panthers listed three players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: starting right tackle Taylor Moton, sack leader Jadeveon Clowney, and top off-ball linebacker Josey Jewell.

Moton was resting.

The “not injury-related/rest” part of Clowney’s injury description was removed from Wednesday to Thursday. He’s now just listed with “knee.” He might not be able to play this weekend? Wouldn’t be a good development for a pass rush that ranks tied for second-to-last in sacks per game.

Jewell was downgraded from limited on Wednesday to DNP on Thursday. Doesn’t seem like a positive sign for his playing chances.

The Panthers listed four players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: starting tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, starting wide receiver Jalen Coker, starting edge rusher D.J. Wonnum, and backup cornerback Caleb Farley.

Sanders and Wonnnum were limited for the second day in a row. It’s unclear if they’ll be able to play on Sunday.

Coker was downgraded from full go on Wednesday to limited on Thursday. The Panthers’ rookie receiver might not be able to suit up after all.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

OLB Jadeveon Clowney (knee)
LB Josey Jewell (hamstring)
OT Taylor Moton (rest)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

WR Jalen Coker (quadriceps)
CB Caleb Farley (shoulder)
TE Ja’Tavion Sanders (neck)
OLB D.J. Wonnum (knee)
