Jordan Addison Pleads Not Guilty to Misdemeanor Charges

And he’s got a new court date

On Tuesday, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison entered a plea of not guilty to a pair of misdemeanor charges stemming from a traffic incident in Los Angeles in July.

Addison was charged with driving under the influence near the Los Angeles International Airport, when his Rolls Royce was found blocking traffic on I-105 with Addison in the vehicle and asleep at the wheel.

After entering his plea, Addison now has a pre-trial conference hearing scheduled for January 9, which is a few days before the Vikings’ regular season finale against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

It seems likely that Addison will face some sort of discipline for this incident, though he won’t have to worry about it affecting this season. According to NFL rules, discipline for a first offense such as this involves a suspension for three games, and while the suspension could be served during postseason games it seems unlikely that things will be adjudicated quickly enough to affect Addison’s availability for any postseason run the Vikings might make.

If I had to venture a guess, I would think that something will be worked out shortly after the Vikings’ season comes to an end and the team will have to play the first three games of the 2025 regular season without Addison in the lineup. That’s speculative, obviously, but if a three-game suspension is going to be the penalty then the league would likely come down with their ruling relatively quickly once everything is worked out.
