You may or may not have heard it by now, but this Sunday will mark the return of Kirk Cousins to U.S. Bank Stadium when the Minnesota Vikings host the Atlanta Falcons. The betting odds have been established for this one, and it doesn’t appear that there are many people who believe that Kirko Chainz is going to head back to Atlanta with a victory.
Our friends from FanDuel have put the opening lines out there, and the Vikings have started out as a 4.5-point favorite over the Falcons for Sunday’s contest. The over/under for the game has been established at 46.5 points.
Cousins has been pretty terrible during the Falcons’ three-game losing streak and put together a four-interception performance this past Sunday in Atlanta’s 17-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. During the Falcons’ three-game losing streak, Cousins has thrown no touchdown passes while the Falcons have averaged just 12 points/game during that stretch.
The Vikings, for the second time this season, are riding a five-game winning streak following their thrilling 23-22 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13. They can, potentially, wrap up a spot in the NFC playoffs this week if they beat the Falcons and get a couple of other results to go their way. I’m not sure how much they’ll be focused on Cousins’ return to Minnesota, but you can bet they’ll be focused on getting their ticket to the postseason party punched.
The big storyline around this game will be the Cousins return, but the Vikings have been one of the biggest stories of the 2024 NFL season overall.
