Here’s everything you need to know about the Eagles’ Week 13 road game.
The Philadelphia Eagles (9-2) are on a seven-game win streak, and are back on the road in Week 13 to take on the Baltimore Ravens (8-4) on Sunday at 4:25 PM ET.
This game is going to be a ground battle from the first snap, with two of the best running backs in the league going head-to-head. The Ravens have leaned heavily on Derrick Henry after signing him this offseason, and it’s been a similar situation for Saquon Barkley since signing with the Eagles. Barkley and Henry have spent most of their careers one-upping each other, but Barkley is having a career-best, franchise-high season, and has been catapulted into MVP discussions.
A.J. Brown has played with both dynamic rushers, after starting his career with Henry in Tennessee, and admitted last week that he had to re-evaluate his RB rankings when Barkley hit the reverse hurdle against the Jaguars. The WR was also seen in last week’s game against the Rams giving Barkley his flowers after his 72-yard breakout run to set the single-game franchise rushing record.
It took the Eagles a few weeks to figure out how to best utilize their new weapon, but sticking with the run game has paid off in huge ways. The offense has reliably put things together in the second half, and it could be that they’re wearing defenses down for two quarters and then finally able to overpower them to end games.
Baltimore will prove to be a unique challenge for the Eagles ground game — if there’s a defense prepped to stop the run, it’s the group that goes against Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry everyday in practice. But, luckily, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are always ready to step up and make big plays when needed. Smith missed the Rams game last week due to a hamstring injury, but has been trending in the right direction. He might be available on Sunday against the Ravens.
The Eagles would be lucky to get Smith back on the field, but they will be without Darius Slay who is still in the concussion protocol. Vic Fangio’s defense has been playing lights out, and will need to keep that same energy and discipline against Jackson and Henry. It’ll be a battle for 60 minutes, but the Eagles have all the pieces to leave Baltimore with a win.

History Lesson
The Ravens lead the all-time series between these team, 3-2-1, and have won three of their four most-recent meetings. They last faced off back in 2020, with Baltimore narrowly winning in Philly, 30-28.
These two run-heavy teams have only played twice in the past twelve years, which means this marks the first matchup between Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. It also means that the Eagles have not beaten the Ravens in over a decade.
Head coach Nick Sirianni has already changed history with several victories this season — the Eagles first win in New Orleans since 2007, first win in Cincinnati ever, first win in Dallas since 2017. Sirianni previously mentioned how he’s not concerned with stats like those since teams change every year, so a decade-plus drought against the Ravens isn’t likely at the front of his mind. But, it would cool for this team to break another streak.
