Week 13 roster updates.

Here’s some Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens roster news ahead of their Week 13 game at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Eagles downgraded WR Johnny Wilson from questionable to OUT.

The rookie wide receiver unexpectedly missed Friday’s practice due to a hamstring injury.

Wilson has only been targeted twice over the last three weeks, so, it’s not like he’s a major part of the passing attack. But he’s been deployed as a red zone threat and he’s been a good run blocker. Wilson just played a career-high 70% of the Eagles’ offensive snaps in Week 12.

The Eagles placed FB/LB Ben VanSumeren on injured reserve.

BVS suffered a season-ending knee injury during Friday’s practice. The Eagles will be without their top fullback and backup linebacker/special teams contributor moving forward.

The Eagles signed WR Parris Campbell from their practice squad to the active roster.

The Eagles already used up Campbell’s maximum limit of three temporary practice squad elevations, so, they needed to sign him to the roster to have him available to play in a game.

The team determined Campbell was needed with Wilson ruled out and DeVonta Smith deemed questionable to play. Perhaps the Campbell signing points to DeVonta not playing?

If DeVonta can’t suit up, the Eagles will roll with the following wide receivers: A.J. Brown, Jahan Dotson, Britain Covey, Ainias Smith, and Campbell.

Campbell has six receptions on seven targets this season for just 30 yards and one touchdown. He’s logged 112 offensive snaps and 1 special teams snap thus far.

The Eagles temporarily elevated TE C.J. Uzomah and OLB Ochaun Mathis from the practice squad.

For the third week in a row, the Eagles are elevating Uzomah to be their third tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra. Uzomah only played three offensive snaps in Week 11 but he was up to 16 in Week 12. With the Eagles being thin at wide receiver, they might opt to go with more 12 and 13 personnel looks in this game. Uzomah might also be able to help fill the Wilson role to some extent. This is Uzomah’s third and final temporarily elevation of the regular season; the Eagles will have to sign him to the roster if they want to have him available for game day moving forward.

Mathis being elevated over Tarron Jackson is a surprise; the former only joined the team a little less than one week ago. But Mathis can provide the Eagles with more edge rusher depth in the wake of Brandon Graham’s injury. He also has experience contributing on special teams.

The Ravens notably did not activate nose tackle Michael Pierce nor cornerback T.J. Tampa in time to play on Sunday.

The Ravens opened 21-day practice windows to return from injured reserve for each of these players earlier this week.

There was thought that Pierce, who was a full participant in Friday’s practice, might be able to suit up. But that won’t be the case, which is probably a good development for the Eagles’ rushing attack. Pierce is one of the best run-stuffing interior defenders in the NFL.

Tampa, a rookie corner, wasn’t considered likely to play anyway.
