Injury designations for Sunday’s matchup
The Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals have posted their final injury reports ahead of Sunday’s matchup. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
- TE Josh Oliver, Ankle/wrist, OUT
- DB Jay Ward, Elbow, OUT
- LT Cam Robinson, Foot, QUESTIONABLE
While both Oliver and Ward are out for the Cardinals game, head coach Kevin O’Connell seemed hopeful in his press conference today that both would be able to play next week against the Falcons.
Left tackle Cam Robinson is officially listed as questionable, but was a full participant in Friday’s practice, which makes it more likely he’ll play on Sunday than not.
There were no other injury designations for the Vikings in advance of Sunday’s game. Everyone else that appeared on the injury report earlier this week was a full participant in practice on Friday, except Harrison Smith and Stephon Gilmore, who got their usual veterans day off.
Arizona Cardinals
- S Joey Blount, Hip, QUESTIONABLE
- RB Emari Demercado, Back, QUESTIONABLE
- DL Darius Robinson, Calf, QUESTIONABLE
- S Jalen Thompson, Ankle, QUESTIONABLE
Joey Blount is a backup safety and special teamer for the Cardinals who just showed up on Friday’s injury report and was limited with a hip injury.
Emari Demercado has been limited all week with a back injury so probably closer to 50/50 if he plays or not.
Darius Robinson was the Cardinals top draft pick this year but has yet to play a snap this season. He has been limited in practice all week, but if he does play Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said he’ll likely have a “plan,” presumably meaning a snap count as it would be his first NFL game and coming off injury.
Lastly, Jalen Thompson has missed the last two games with his ankle injury and was limited all week in practice. Probably more likely he doesn’t play given that. He would be replaced by Dadrion Taylor-Demerson if he’s not able to go. He has replaced him in the last two games.
But overall, not any major players on either side with injury designations for this game.
