Thanksgiving this year will have a couple of treats for games.
Thanksgiving NFL football is a tradition older than most NFL fans. Sometimes, the matchups have been really one-sided. We may be in for a couple of those this year, but at least they will give us something to talk about!
First up, the Detroit Lions are hosting the Chicago Bears. The Lions have looked like one of the most complete teams in the entire NFL. They are balanced on offense, and the defense is able to get after the quarterback and stop the run.
The Bears were not exactly a No. 1 overall quarterback away from competing. Caleb Williams hasn’t come in and lit up the NFL with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Chicago did a lot of work to try and improve in one offseason, but they are still obviously some moves away. A win here would mean a lot for the confidence of this team moving forward.
The second game will be the New York Giants visiting the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams are on to their backup quarterbacks. Dak Prescott is hurt, and Daniel Jones was waived and is a Viking now.
The Giants are a team that has quit. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers took a shot at the decision to move on from Jones after getting beat down by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers asserting “the quarterback wasn’t the problem.”
The Cowboys at least managed to pull off an upset against the Washington Commanders after giving up an 80+ yard touchdown only to miss the extra point that would have sent the game to overtime.
Here is who our staff is taking in these:
