Giants lose seventh straight game
The New York Giants lost their seventh straight game on Thursday, falling 27-20 to the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
The victory improves Dallas’ record to 5-7 and keeps their faint playoff hopes alive, while the Giants fall to 2-10.
The Cowboys’ defense set the tone early with a pick-six by DeMarvion Overshown, who intercepted a Drew Lock and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. Overshown later recovered a Lock fumble in the second half, reinforcing Dallas’ defensive dominance. Micah Parsons also had a standout performance, registering multiple sacks and keeping constant pressure on Lock.
Quarterback Cooper Rush managed the game effectively in place of Dak Prescott, who remains sidelined. Rush connected with Brandin Cooks for a key touchdown early in the third quarter, extending the Cowboys’ lead to 20-10. Running back Rico Dowdle capped off a solid day with a four-yard touchdown run in the third, giving Dallas a commanding 27-10 advantage.
New York, starting Drew Lock after Tommy DeVito was ruled out, struggled to show consiustency on offense but showed resilience in the fourth quarter. Lock led an 80-yard drive late in the game, finishing it with an 8-yard touchdown scramble to cut the deficit to 27-20. However, the Giants decided to kick deep instead of attempting an onside kick with 2:18 remaining and the Cowboys ran out the clock.
