The Detroit Lions suffered two more injuries to their defense, with a pair of linemen rules OUT vs. Bears.
The injuries keep coming for the Detroit Lions defense. In the first half against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, the Lions lost two players on their defensive line who did not return: defensive end Josh Paschal and defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike.
Paschal left the game after chasing down Bears quarterback Caleb Williams then falling awkwardly to the ground. He was listed with a knee injury and initially listed as questionable to return. He spent the next quarter walking around on the sidelines testing out the knee, but he was eventually downgraded to out. He was replaced in the lineup with Al-Quadin Muhammad and rookie Mekhi Wingo.
Shortly thereafter, Onwuzurike went down in the waning seconds of the first half. He went to the locker room with nine seconds left in the half, and when the teams returned to the field for the second half, Onwuzurike was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The Lions are already relatively thin on the defensive line with Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, John Cominsky and Kyle Peko on injured reserve. Hopefully these injuries are not considered long-term.
