Catch the first meeting of the Bengals and Steelers this season.
The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers are meeting for the first time pretty late in the season. It is safe to say these two teams are probably not where most people expected them to be at this point in the season.
Despite Joe Burrow’s MVP-caliber season, the Bengals are 4-7 and on the brink of elimination from playoff contention. Cincinnati has had so many close games that have not gone their way that it is painful.
Their last loss against the Los Angeles Chargers was a prime example. They stormed back from a huge deficit to tie the game. However, kicker Evan McPherson missed two possible go-ahead-field goals, and the defense finally relented a touchdown to finish things off. It is the season of ‘Do you know how close the Bengals are to actually having one of the best records in the league?’
The Steelers, on the other hand, have been able to rely on their defense most of the season. Quarterback Justin Fields started the season, but he struggled to get the offense to move the ball consistently. When Russell Wilson returned, things changed pretty quickly.
They are still not immune to blunders, though. They allowed Jameis Winston and the Cleveland Browns to steal a victory on Thursday Night Football last week in one of the snowiest games you could have ever seen. That leaves Pittsburgh 1-1 against AFC North opponents. Can Cincinnati make it 1-2?
