The Giants add the edge defender to their defense
The New York Giants are signing edge defender Tomon Fox to their active roster in advance of their Thanksgiving showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants needed to make a move to add depth to their defensive front after placing Azeez Ojulari on the injured reserve this week.
Fox has spent much of the season on the Giants practice squad, though he’s been elevated for several games. He is, however, out of practice squad elevations and the Giants needed to sign him to the active roster to use him the remainder of the year.
The Giants originally signed Fox as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina following the 2022 NFL draft. He surprised by making the roster that year and was a useful rotational player along the defensive front. That year he played in 16 games and finished with 24 tackles, 3 for a loss, and a sack.
Fox has played in 5 games this year, and has 7 tackles, 1 for a loss, and a sack.
The Giants will need to make a corresponding roster move to create a spot for Fox. They have yet to make that move as of this writing, but well update as soon as we know more.
