A viral video of New York Giants GM Joe Schoen and other Giants’ decision-makers at a Colorado football practice on Tuesday has both proponents and opponents of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders being the Giants’ next quarterback taking to social media to offer their opinions.
Here is the video:

From left, that is assistant GM Brandon Brown, Schoen, special assistant to the GM Jessie Armstead and director of player personnel Tim McDonnell talking to Colorado coach Deion Sanders. Sanders, of course, is Shedeur’s father.
Sanders is considered by many to be the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 2-9 Giants, who have a chance to end up with the No. 1 overall pick, need a new franchise quarterback after finally parting ways with Daniel Jones after 5½ seasons.
Sanders is immensely talented, but does not come without warnings. The first is that he is Deion’s son, and Deion Sanders has made it clear that he will not hesitate to pull strings to make certain Shedeur does not land with a team the elder Sanders does not approve of.
Sanders, perhaps partially because he is coached by his father at the collegiate level, has been said to be entitled. He pushed an official from behind during the Buffaloes’ loss to Kansas on Saturday. Earlier this year, he left the sideline early during a loss to Nebraska, and was then critical of his offensive line in the aftermath.

Schoen — if he remains the Giants’ GM — and the rest of the organization will have to decide if they are comfortable with all of the things that would come with Shedeur if they were to draft him.
Schoen and coach Brian Daboll have not shied away from big personalities. Edge defender Kayvon Thibodeaux, Schoen’s first pick in 2022, is a player some shied away from. Wide receiver Malik Nabers, drafted No. 6 overall, is another whose penchant for demanding the ball and expressing his displeasure when he doesn’t get it — which we have seen over the past few days — was well-known before the draft.
Shedeur Sanders would be the biggest risk of all.
Here is what some were saying after the video surfaced:
Full court press. Schoen, Brown, McDonnell & Armstead all there. Honestly, I’m warming to the idea of Shedeur. To get the Giants out of this mess, they need someone w/ some attitude who is going to shake things up to lead at QB (in addition to the skill set..obviously).

I don’t want Sanders in New York
I’m saying it
He is going to be a disaster here
Too much distractions
Not to mention the sidebar with his dad
Joe Schoen should not be making the next QB choice for the Giants

Drafting shedeur would be one of the best things to ever happen to the giants franchise

I like both Sanders and Ward but think Shedeur is more prepared to play with the scrutiny that comes with being the QB of the New York Giants. No player in college football has had more pressure put on him the last few years and he’s delivered more times than not. Super accurate. https://t.co/zXaTIOqxO1

Todd McShay is one of the guys I trust most at evaluating QBs.
He was the one who NAILED the pre draft analysis of Daniel Jones.
He thinks Shedeur’s ceiling is Geno Smith/ Tua Tagovailoa.
I’m gonna get hate, but I prefer to wait for an ELITE prospect https://t.co/a9MDSBuNjC

The NFC Asst GM is none other than the NYG, Brandon Brown. From one of my NYG FO guys, BB is in “full bloom love” with Sanders. Ask @Jordan_Reid to confirm if you don’t believe me. #nfldraft https://t.co/MAuPsaz597
