Lions News: Meet the ‘sticky note’ guy in the Detroit Lions radio booth

Few know his name, but many know his game. Wood TV did a neat story on the unheralded key to Detroit Lions radio.

They call him “Sticky Notes Guy,” and his skills are unparalleled.

Mike Bratta can be seen in the weekly “Calls of the Game” videos that feature the Detroit Lions Network Radio crew—Dan Miller, Lomas Brown and T.J. Lang. Equipped with a pair of binoculars, Bratta tracks the action at lightning speed, handing sticky notes to Miller with information to broadcast on air.

Fans quickly grew enamored with his role and began asking about his story. WOOD TV8 digital reporter Matt Jaworowski went to work and wrote a great piece on the statistician.

If that’s not enough, with a radio career that began in 1981, Bratta has seen his share of Michigan sports history outside the Lions, including “Malice at the Palace.”

“There was a picture in Sports Illustrated of me trying to stop Rasheed Wallace (from entering the stands). My hand is on his shorts and he’s just flying by me,” he recalled.

And onto the rest of your notes.

  • The Lions showed up to the game Sunday in style.

  • Taylor Decker supports his rushers with this cool shirt. Also love that they love the nickname, as evidenced by this video on the NFL’s Instagram.

  • The man is a bulldozer.

  • Kerby Joseph makes an appearance in Gmac Cash’s latest hit. Language warning on this one. 🙂

  • As usual, Lions fans traveled in hordes.

  • Morgan’s smart to collect these pieces of history.

  • Keep in mind, Pat McAfee isn’t the smallest guy.
