The Miami Dolphins are on their third long snapper of the season.
The Miami Dolphins elevated long snapper Tucker Addington and tackle Jackson Carman to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. This will mark the third game this season that each player has been elevated from the practice squad, and must be signed to the active roster, instead of being elevated, to keep playing for the team after this week.
Addington is Miami’s third long-snapper after Blake Ferguson was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list on Oct. 19. Addington replaced Matt Overton on the practice squad, who started three games but was released after Miami opted not to sign him to the 53-man roster.
Carman, a former second-round draft pick, spent three-plus seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before Miami signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 17. He’s played 11 special teams snaps over the last two weeks.
The Dolphins, riding a two-game winning streak, look to secure their first three-game streak of the season while maintaining their dominance over New England. Miami has won seven of the last eight matchups against the Patriots, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a perfect 6-0 against the divisional rival.
