Can the Steelers keep their Super Bowl hopes alive on the road against the Browns?
AFC North games are rarely boring and that’s what we have kicking off the Week 12 slate on Thursday Night football. The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Cleveland Browns on the road in one of the better rivalries in the NFL. While the Browns are 2-8 and the Steelers are 8-2, these two teams always bring out the best in each other and everyone will be hoping for a close one in primetime.
The Steelers were expected to be better in 2024 with a legitimate quarterback under center. However, not many would have expected 8-2 and one game behind the top-seed in the AFC. Russell Wilson is doing just enough at quarterback, allowing the Steelers defense to take over games like they did last week. This is now a team with Super Bowl aspirations as we head into late-November.
On the other side, it doesn’t get much more disappointing than the Browns this season. Deshaun Watson has completely busted since signing his fully guaranteed contract and the Browns don’t have a Joe Flacco to save them this year. The defense was historically good last year and that unit has regressed to an extent. At this point, the Browns are just looking to get to the offseason when things will get very interesting.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Steelers are only 3.5-point favorites on the road. This is a Browns team that has consistently gotten blown out this year, including a 35-14 loss last week to the New Orleans Saints. While the Steelers don’t have an explosive offense, they are capable of scoring points, especially against bad teams. The Browns are a bad football team. Division games on the road are never easy, but the Steelers should win by at least a touchdown.
The Pick: Steelers (-3.5)
Season Record: 15-19
