Did this Eagles reporter go too far in comparing the team to the Rams?
Every team’s local coverage is going to have media that is mostly made up of biased reporters, but can one of those people go too far? That might be the case with this team-to-team comparison from Go Birds Go podcast host Eliot Shorr-Parks, as he doesn’t only have Nick Sirianni well ahead of Sean McVay, but also has the Eagles ahead of the Rams in every single category except for defensive line.
Is one-time Super Bowl loser Siranni “elite” better than one-time Super Bowl winner/one-time Super Bowl loser McVay, who is apparently closer to “average”?

In addition to Sirianni being elite, Shorr-Parks has Jalen Hurts ahead of “average” Matthew Stafford and believes that Philadelphia is also elite at running back, tight end, receiver, offensive line, and secondary.
Four games into the season, the 2-2 Eagles were coming off of a 33-16 loss to Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles headed into an early bye. Now they’ve won six straight and it’s clear that some are happy to smell what’s cooking, whether that’s Thanksgiving turkey or a fart.
Here are the Eagles on the six-game winning streak:
- Week 6: Eagles 20, Browns 6 (Browns are 2-8)
- Week 7: Eagles 28, Giants 3 (Giants are 2-8)
- Week 8: Eagles 37, Bengals 17 (Bengals are 4-7)
- Week 9: Eagles 28, Jaguars 23 (Jaguars are 2-9)
- Week 10: Eagles 34, Cowboys 6 (Cowboys are 3-7)
- Week 11: Eagles 26, Commanders 18 (Commanders are 7-4)
The current 2025 NFL Draft order has the Jaguars with pick 1, the Browns with pick 3, the Giants with pick 4, the Cowboys with pick 9, and the Bengals with pick 11.
The Eagles are 2-1 against teams currently in playoff positions, including a 34-29 win over the Packers in Week 1 (a game held in Brazil) and that recent win over a Commanders team that is dealing with its own dose of reality after losing their last two.
They also lost to the 6-5 Falcons.
It’s amazing what adding a running back and having that player hurdle backwards will do for the perception of an NFL team.
Saquon Barkley is so good that he made Nick Sirianni a lot better than Sean McVay and both Jalen Hurts and Kyren Williams better than Matthew Stafford. If only the Rams knew how to beat the (checks notes) Jaguars, Giants, and Browns.
