Evan McPherson is bad. Really bad.
He missed two field goals against the Los Angeles Chargers last night and is now one of the worst kickers in the league, especially from long distance.

And he, unlike superstar receiver Ja’Marr Chase, got an extension this offseason.
That can’t sit well with the team right now.
Chase didn’t mince words when asked what he said to his kicker, saying:
“I didn’t tell him nothing, but he knows to make those kicks. That’s why we paid him those bucks, to make those kicks in crunch time.”

At this point, the Bengals cannot trust McPherson in any pivotal spot in a game. And, following the season, they just might have to part ways and eat the $3.75 million in dead cap. That’s how bad things have gotten.
We’ll see if McPherson, the o-line, and the defense can work through their issues and help Joe Burrow and company go on a streak following the bye.
