Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …
Number One – Iggles Blitz
Jayden Daniels, meet Vic Fangio. And Jalen Carter and Zack Baun and Quinyon Mitchell. The electric rookie quarterback looked powerless against the surging Eagles defense on Thursday night. After the win over Washington, the Eagles have the number one defense in the NFL in terms of yards allowed. The Eagles haven’t finished a season number one since Gang Green back in 1991. Heck, I don’t know the last time the Eagles were number one in the middle of a season. We’ve seen a lot of good defenses since 1991, but being #1 is special. It will be fun to see if the guys can keep it up. One of the complaints some people had is that the Eagles hadn’t played many good offenses. Washington is a Top 5 scoring team even after the Eagles loss. They had scored 27 or more points in 6 of the 10 games leading up to Thursday night. Washington had all their OL back. They had RB Brian Robinson back. What they didn’t have was an answer for how to solve the Eagles defense.
Another huge defensive stand propels Eagles to a key win – NBCSP
After the Eagles’ stop on fourth down, the offense got the ball back and eventually scored on the first Saquon Barkley touchdown. After a Jayden Daniels interception from Reed Blankenship, Barkley punched in another long touchdown run and the game was basically over. It went from the Eagles’ clinging to a two-point lead to ballgame in a few minutes. And it really all started with that huge fourth-down stop. “Our defense is great with awareness right now,” C.J. Gardner-Johnson said. “We’re hitting on all cylinders. We’re hitting on all the little things after the practice. You guys have been at practice, you see how hard Nick coaches on us on certain situations and stuff. It’s fun when every week a new guy makes a play to help the team win a game. “That 4th-down stop was a testament to the whole defense. Heard a lot of noise all week. The most physical team and the most disciplined team came out and won the game and that 4th-down stop was all about discipline more than just physical will. It’s just wanting a stop and there’s a lot of ball left. Just put the game on our shoulders and go win the game.”
Eagles rooting guide for Week 11 games – BGN
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at DETROIT LIONS: The Jags are 13.5-point road underdogs, so, this would be a massive upset. But it’d be great to see Doug Pederson help his former team. The Eagles need the Lions to lose in order to catch up to Detroit for the No. 1 seed. Root for the Jaguars.

Could Saquon Barkley make a late MVP run? – PFT
It becomes intriguing if the Eagles earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Would quarterback Jalen Hurts be the de facto MVP candidate from Philly, or would it be Barkley? Throw in the fact that the voters now rank five names for MVP, and Barkley could pull an inside straight if he’s the consensus No. 2 and the voters split the No. 1 between the quarterback from the top seed in the AFC and the quarterback from the top seed in the NFC. Regardless, Barkley is going to have to go off more, even more than he has, to get serious consideration. The current pace would put him at No. 10 on the all-time single-season rushing list and 12th in single-season yards from scrimmage. Maybe he’ll turn it up another notch or two. Maybe, in the same way he gets stronger as a game goes on, he’ll get stronger as the season goes on. For now, however, it’s a little early to get on the train. As evidenced by the betting odds.
Eagles rookie sticking WRs like ‘white on rice’ could make team history with his stellar play – NJ.com
Mitchell has also drawn praise from Thursday Night Football analyst Richard Sherman, a three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler who was part of the Seahawks’ famed “Legion of Boom.” Sherman sees a bright future for the young cornerback. “Quinyon Mitchell was on Terry McLaurin like white on rice,” Sherman said on the Thursday Night Football postgame show. “You can tell he cared about this matchup and took pride in it. When you’re young, these are the battles you live for, and that’s why they drafted him so high. He’s going to make this defense complete. He’s a big reason why they’re so effective against the pass. They believe in him, and I think he’s developing into something special. I did tell him he needs to start catching footballs, but other than that, he’s great.”

Cowboys fans expect 1 or 2 more wins on the season – Blogging The Boys
Based on all that pessimism, we wanted to see how many more games the team might win this season. Winning games can makes us feel better, but they also hurt draft positioning. It’s a dilemma. With eight games left on the schedule, we asked how many overall games will Dallas win this year. The overwhelming majority, 68%, said four to five. That means the belief is the Cowboys will win once or twice more this year.
Kirk Herbstreit blasts Cowboys ahead of ‘Monday Night Football’ – SB Nation
But still, these are the Cowboys, and they draw attention. This means Mike McCarthy and company will be in action on Monday Night Football to close out Week 11, as Dallas hosts C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. During a promo for that game on Saturday’s installment of College GameDay Kirk Herbstreit — who was on the call for one of the Cowboys’ three wins this year back in Week 3 — let his feelings be known about the situation in Dallas, which he described as a “train wreck:”
Despite Saquon Barkley’s greatness, the Giants are fine at running back without him – Big Blue View
Barkley is having a great season, the best of his career to date. No one should be shocked by that. I don’t believe the Giants are. Barkley ran for 176 yards on just 17 carries against the Giants in Week 6, mercifully taking the fourth quarter off. He is averaging a career-best 113.7 yards rushing per game and leads the league through 10 games with 1,137 rushing yards. If he keeps up that pace, he will end up with 1,933 rushing yards and a career-high 2,289 total yards from scrimmage. Eagles fans were all over social media trolling the Giants after Barkley ran for 146 yards and caught two passes for 52 more, giving him 198 total yards on Thursday as the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders to improve to 8-2. The view here? Good for Saquon. He’s a great player and he deserves to shine. He is still as good or better than anyone in the open field, and he is with a team that can get him there and let him do what he does best. Good for Eagles fans. Let them have their fun.
Jaguars could see another regime change with loss to Lions on Sunday – NFL.com
Inside the building, several sources say change, including the organization potentially moving on from Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke, would not be a surprise. Based on several conversations, while Jaguars staffers are still working and grinding, there is a pall permeating the situation. A doom.

Stat to know: The Jaguars are 1-6 this season in one-score games (decided by eight or fewer points). That’s the most such losses in the NFL. [BLG Note: The Jags have had some bad luck this year.]
