Following an ugly stretch of three games that appeared winnable but that our Miami Dolphins lost, they bounced back last weekend, playing a complete game. By complete game, I mean that the offense looked solid, as did the defense in the same game against the Los Angeles Rams. After traveling cross country for a primetime game, the Dolphins returned home with a much-needed 23 to 15 win. Despite the excitement created by a solid win, the Phins will now have to go on a run of victories to have any hope of staying in the playoff run this season, making today’s game yet another “must-win”.
Miami’s opponent this afternoon, the Las Vegas Raiders, began the season with high hopes of making the playoffs. The Raiders even went out in the offseason and made some splash moves, including signing former Miami Dolphin defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to a giant contract. The Raiders have all but fallen on their faces this season. Some of that is due to a rash of injuries, but I expect the offseason will undoubtedly see some significant changes to their front office and coaching staff. The Raiders are coming off a five-game losing streak, including their loss last weekend to the Cincinnati Bengals, 41 to 24.
