Keys to beating the Dolphins on the road
The Las Vegas Raiders play at the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PT.
Here are some keys to the game for the Raiders:
Handle Hill:
Dolphins’ wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been a Raiders’ killer and this defense has given up big plays to receivers. Hill was smoking the Raiders last November before an injury slowed him. Expect the Dolphins to try to get that going again.
Make Tua uncomfortable:
The Raiders have to make Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa feel the heat and try to make uncomfortable. if not, Tua, who is solid when healthy, can shred them like Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow did in Week 9 when he threw five touchdown passes.
Win turnover battle:
We know how bad the Raiders are in this area. They have committed 19 turnovers (the highest in the league) on offense and have created five turnovers on defense (tied for the lowest in the league). Of course, their minus-14 turnover differential is the worst in the NFL. This is a reason why the Raiders are 2-7. It has to change at some point.
Exploit Jakobi Meyers:
Meyers is the Raiders’ top wide receiver now that Davante Adams has been traded to the New York Jets. Meyers has a total of 14 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown in the past two games since he returned from an ankle injury. He helps out star rookie tight end Brock Bowers. The Raiders have to get the ball.
Stop the tight end:
The Dolphins will want tp feed Jonnu Smith. In the past two games, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Mike Gesicki of the Cincinnati Bengals. have combined for 15 catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns against the Raiders defense. Linebacker Divine Deablo has struggled in this area. He has to improve in this game.
