On Thursday night, in a Week 11 divisional game, Eagles RB Saquon Barkley reached 1,000 yards rushing. It’s not the first time he’s ever reached the feat in his career, but it is the fastest he’s ever done it — and with seven weeks left, there will be plenty of opportunities to add to that milestone.
Barkley was stuffed most of the game but had two huge breakout runs for touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. Those TDs sealed the Eagles win and extended their lead at the top of the NFC East. As the RB was interviewed after the game, fans made sure to show their appreciation to the Giants for failing to pay Barkley, which led to him signing with Philly.
“Thank you, Giants.”

The Eagles offense was already loaded with talent before Barkley was added, but the team has been able to prioritize the run game with him on the roster, especially since the bye week. Three offensive linemen spoke to head coach Nick Sirianni during the bye about leaning more on the ground game, and its had a huge impact.
Barkley is having a great time playing in a functioning offense that allows his talent to shine. After his Week 11 performance, he now leads the league in rushing yards, 1,137 yards on 197 carries, and eight touchdowns — that doesn’t even include his receiving yards and TDs. He’s on pace to break all of his career highs, and probably several franchise and league records, as well.
Even Cowboys players past and present can’t believe how much the Giants messed up the early years of Barkley’s career.
All jokes aside they giants almost made us believe saquon wasn’t HIM anymore!! That really says a lot!! Daniel jones was paid over saquon! He was worth more to their franchise!! This really says a lot!!

So, yes, thank you Giants! Thank you for letting Saquon Barkley hit free agency because you didn’t think he was worth $12 million a year — you were right, he’s worth way more than that.
