Joe Burrow was battered and bruised on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens, with a couple of clear illegal hits going uncalled.
But at least the NFL decided to punish Maxx Crosby for a late hit against the Cincinnati Bengals QB in last Sunday’s game.
Tom Pelissero reported that the league fined the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end $11,255 for unnecessary roughness for his hit on Burrow in Week 9.

Perhaps defenders will think twice about hitting the star QB in the future, because, after a strong start, the o-line had one of its worst outings against the Ravens.
On Thursday, Joe Burrow was hung out to dry. He was pressured on an unworkable 48% of dropbacks, hit 10 times, and hurried 21 (!) times. These are conditions to be wiped out by a pass rush, but Burrow threw for 428 YD and 4 TD.

Still, despite getting constantly hit, Burrow lit up Baltimore and almost came away with a win.
Now it’s time for Frank Pollack, Dan Pitcher, and Zac Taylor to put in place a better game plan to keep the franchise QB upright if they want to have a chance against the Los Angeles Raiders next Sunday.
