Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 11/9/24
The Los Angeles Rams defense hasn’t been the best unit this season, but they have steadily shown improvement since their bye week. LA’s defense has been causing turnovers, scoring points and making key stops to help the Rams win their last three games. Now has the defense been perfect during that stretch? Far from it as LA continues to give up big yards at times, but again the defense has improved and that’s a fact.
You can see the numbers below but it looks like Sean McVay may have found another fine defensive coordinator in Chris Shula, but is he the DC of the future? Time will tell.
Please comment on whatever you’d like have a great Saturday and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
Rams’ defense has been one of the NFL’s best since Week 7 (theramswire)
“In the first five weeks of the season, the Rams ranked last in the NFL in EPA/play allowed (0.165). They were terrible against the pass, giving up big plays and committing way too many penalties, and they couldn’t stop anyone on the ground. The pass rush was generating a decent amount of pressure but it didn’t have the sacks to go with it.
Then the Week 6 bye hit, a break that came at the perfect time.
Since Week 7, only one team in the league ranks higher than the Rams in EPA/play allowed (-0.183): the Eagles at -0.204. That’s a remarkable turnaround, one that Shula deserves a lot of credit for, but his players do, too.”

Rams have big decisions to make along offensive line for Week 10 (theramswire)
“Nothing has been easy up front for the Los Angeles Rams. The offensive line has been a revolving door, with 10 different players starting at least one game this season. That’s mostly been due to injuries suffered along the O-line, but performance has also led to some changes, too.
The shuffling will continue in Week 10 now that Jonah Jackson and possibly Steve Avila will be back on the field, and with Rob Havenstein out due to an ankle injury. It’s possible the Rams will have three different starters than they had last week, but it’s something the team is working through right now.”

Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Rams: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 10 game (usatoday)
“The Los Angeles Rams will get a visit from their old pal Jalen Ramsey this weekend as the Miami Dolphins travel to SoFi Stadium for Monday Night Football.
After a slow start to the season, the Rams have put together a solid streak of victories to push themselves to .500. The returns of star receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua could not have come at a better time too. With contenders like the Eagles, Bills, and 49ers all coming up within their next six games.”
