Eagles rooting guide for Week 10 games

Sunday afternoon reference material.

The tenth Sunday of the 2024 NFL regular season is here! Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the Week 10 games.

EAGLES GAME

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at DALLAS COWBOYS: The Eagles will be 7-2 with a win and they’ll drop the Cowboys to 3-6. Would be a pretty delicious outcome. Go Birds.

NFC EAST

NEW YORK GIANTS at CAROLINA PANTHERS (Germany): As far as the Eagles’ interests are concerned, this is a must-win game for the Giants. A Panthers loss keeps Carolina ahead of New York in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Root for the Giants.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: The Commanders currently lead the NFC East at 7-2. If Washington drops this game and the Eagles beat both the Cowboys this weekend and the Commanders on Thursday night … the Birds will be 8-2 and the Commies will be 7-4 (impressive math, I know). Creating some cushion would be ideal. Root for the Steelers.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE

Top seven teams via ESPN:

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: The 49ers are the bigger threat and they have a more realistic chance to win their division than Tampa does theirs. Root for the Buccaneers.

DETROIT LIONS at HOUSTON TEXANS: The Eagles don’t want the Lions to win the NFC North. The Birds don’t have a shot at the No. 1 seed if Detroit keeps winning. Root for the Texans.

DRAFT POSITIONING

The Eagles want to see the Giants (and Cowboys after this week) pick up some meaningless wins to ruin their draft positioning. They also want to see other teams stay/move ahead of them in the draft order.

Current 2025 NFL Draft order via Tankathon:

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Pats losing keeps them ahead of the Giants and Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Also, the Bears making the playoffs as a relatively weak wild card team wouldn’t be bad if they end up being a potential Eagles opponent. Root for the Bears.

BUFFALO BILLS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: The Colts have a chance to move ahead of the Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Root for the Bills.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Jags losing keeps them ahead of the Giants and Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Also, the Vikings winning keeps them in contention for the NFC North crown. Minny winning their division is preferable to Detroit or Green Bay doing it instead. Root for the Vikings.

ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Saints losing keeps them ahead of the Giants and Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Also, preferable to see the Falcons win the NFC South instead of Tampa. Root for the Falcons.

TENNESSEE TITANS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The Titans losing keeps them ahead of the Cowboys and gives them a chance to move ahead of the Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Root for the Chargers.

NEW YORK JETS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: The Jets losing keeps them ahead of the Cowboys and gives them a chance to move ahead of the Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Also, the Cards winning the NFC West is preferable to seeing either San Fran or LA win it instead. Root for the Cardinals.

MIAMI DOLPHINS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Dolphins losing keeps them ahead of the Cowboys and gives them a chance to move ahead of the Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft order. Also, the Rams winning the NFC West is preferable to the Niners earning the crown. Root for the Rams.

WHAT’S LEFT

DENVER BRONCOS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: Probably best to hope Patrick Mahomes doesn’t waltz to the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Root for the Broncos.
