Injury designations for Sunday’s matchup
The Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars issued their final injury reports on Friday, complete with injury designations for their matchup on Sunday. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Blake Cashman, Toe, QUESTIONABLE
- OLB Gabe Murphy, Knee, QUESTIONABLE
- LB Ivan Pace Jr., Knee, QUESTIONABLE
Both Cashman and Pace were full participants in Friday’s practice, which suggests it’s more likely than not that they’ll play on Sunday. Cashman said he felt great this week, which also suggests he’ll play.
Gabe Murphy, who has not be activated yet from IR, was listed as limited in Friday’s practice. He is in his 21-day practice window to be activated from IR, but there probably isn’t a big hurry to activate him and make a corresponding roster move at this point as the Vikings are fairly deep at OLB. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if Murphy gets any playing time once he’s activated, as he reportedly got some first-team reps during the off-season before he was injured.
Others that have been on the injury list this week, which includes Harrison Smith and Stephon Gilmore today with rest days, do not have injury designations so they will play on Sunday.
Jacksonville Jaguars
- LG Ezra Cleveland, Ankle, OUT
- DT Maason Smith, Ankle, OUT
- QB Trevor Lawrence, Left Shoulder, QUESTIONABLE
- WR Brian Thomas Jr., Chest, QUESTIONABLE
- S Daniel Thomas, Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
- WR Gabe Davis, Shoulder, QUESTIONABLE
- WR Devin Duvernay, Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
- RB Keilan Robinson, Toe, QUESTIONABLE
- DB Andrew Wingard, Knee, QUESTIONABLE
- RB D’Ernest Johnson, Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
The 2-7 Jaguars have a much longer injury designation list for the game on Sunday. Starting left guard and former Viking Ezra Cleveland is out for the Jaguars after not practicing all week, and so is rotational defensive tackle Maason Smith.
Trevor Lawrence, who was limited all week in practice, is listed as questionable, but reports are that he’s trending toward not playing on Sunday, in which case the Jaguars will roll with Mac Jones at quarterback.
Starting WR Brian Thomas is listed as questionable with a chest injury, but Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said he’s progressing well, despite being limited all week in practice, and played last weekend with the same injury, so perhaps more likely he’ll play than not.
Keilan Robinson, Devin Duvernay, and Andrew Wingard were all full participants in Friday’s practice, so probably more likely they’ll play than not play on Sunday.
But overall, the big news is that it’s most likely Mac Jones at quarterback for the Jags rather than Trevor Lawrence.
