Oooh, I know some of you are seething right now. Some of you can’t accept the fact that Sunday’s performance from the leader of the Miami Dolphins was good enough to win most games in the National Football League.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is not the reason why the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills by a score of 30-27 on the road on Sunday. In fact, when you score 27 points — like Miami has done in two consecutive weeks, by the way — you should win most of the games you play in this league.
Unfortunately, the injury bug has bitten the defensive side of the football in South Florida, and the Miami Dolphins can’t stop a last minute drive to save their lives.
Yet still, a performance like the one Tagovailoa put on tape on Sunday is worth praising, so that’s just what I’ll do.
Miami Dolphins Week Nine MVP – Tua Tagovailoa
Since returning from his latest concussion issue, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been a model of efficiency for the Dolphins. After completing 73.7% of his passes against the Arizona Cardinals in week eight, Miami’s franchise signal caller topped that performance against the Bills by completing a remarkable 25 of 28 passes (89.3%) for 231 yards and two touchdowns.
Tagovailoa actually would have thrown for 255 yards if wide receiver Jaylen Waddle hadn’t inexplicably ran backwards for a country mile on the Dolphins’ last ditch effort on Miami’s final offensive play at the end of the game.
No, a win wasn’t had by the good guys in aqua and orange on Sunday, but Tagovailoa’s stellar game shouldn’t go unheralded by the fanbase. If he continues to play like he did in week nine, there will most certainly be brighter days ahead for the Dolphins moving forward.
