A blowout loss leads to more questions and draft talk
The Las Vegas Raiders added to what’s been a series of ugly performances in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals during the first half of the season as the 2-7 Raiders suffered another embarrassing defeat, 41-24.
Las Vegas hasn’t won since September, Week 4 against a 2-7 Browns team, and Sunday’s defeat makes it five in a row for the Silver and Black. According to Levi Edwards of the team’s website, the losing streak, understandably, isn’t sitting well with Maxx Crosby. “Sucks to f**cking lose five straight. Sh*t sucks. … Got to control what we can control. … Everyone’s got to look in the mirror.”
Maxx Crosby was understandably disgruntled following the #Raiders 41-24 loss to the Bengals:

Crosby’s comments stem from the Raiders getting dominated on both sides of the ball. Outside of the opening possession and a garbage-time touchdown score, the offense couldn’t move the ball and averaged 3.7 yards per play. Defensively, they struggled to get off the field on third down again and the Bengals scored on five of their first six possessions with the only stop coming via kneel down before the half.
As a result, the Raiders are heading into the bye week with a whole lot of draft and offseason talk as many on X, formerly known as Twitter, are all-in on tanking for the next couple of months.
The fifth pick could be quarterback range.
Up to date draft order from Tankathon:

3. Panthers 2-7
4. Browns 2-7

The Saints’ loss to the Panthers helps the Raiders’ odds at drafting a new quarterback, so Derek Carr comes up clutch for his old team, kind of.
DC out there reminding the world…Once A Raider. Always A Raider.

Speaking of, where do you stand on the AP talks?

I still stand behind @AntonioPierce
1) Had no QB going into the season
2) Lost Koonce to start the season
3) Original hire Kliff Kingsbury backed out and was left with Getsy
4) Adams Drama
5) Bowers & JPJ seem to be great picks (Telesco Credit here as well)Rookie coach…

Yikes, another #Raiders stinker.
Antonio Pierce and his crew are not inspiring much confidence.
Bye week coming and we’ll see if owner Mark Davis likes what he’s seen from his 2-7 football team or changes are looming. #RaiderNation pic.twitter.com/GWGtHXdAsT— Ray Leonard Aspuria (@AsukalAspuria) November 3, 2024
