Week 9 of the NFL season begins with the Houston Texans at New York Jets on Halloween.
The NFL’s Week 9 schedule starts with a Halloween kickoff between the Houston Texans and the New York Jets. Houston is 6-2, leading the AFC South by two games, and in the second-seed position in the AFC playoff picture. However, they lost wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a knee injury last week and could struggle to adjust without him.
New York is 2-6, sitting in last place in the AFC East, and trying to figure out what has gone so wrong for them at the start of the year. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not been able to spark a turnaround for the Jets, even with the recent addition of wide receiver Davante Adams
The Jets actually come into this game favored over the Texans, however.
Our contributors are back this week to make their straight up winners picks for the game. Each week throughout the season, our group of contributors pick the straight-up winners for every game, working our way from Week1 through the Super Bowl. They can also make picks against the spread and over or under the point spread. The odds are brought to us by FanDuel sportsbook.
As of Thursday afternoon, the Jets were favored by 2.5 points. The moneyline has the Texans +110 for the straight-up win, while the Jets are -130. The point total is set at 42.5.
