Week nine of the 2024 NFL season kicks off this evening with the AFC South’s first-place Houston Texans traveling to New Jersey to take on the AFC East’s fourth-place New York Jets. The 6 and 2 Texans are coming off a 23 to 20 win over their divisional rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, last weekend. The Jets are in the middle of a five-game losing streak, including their loss last week to the New England Patriots 25 to 23.

—My Pick: The Texans will cover the line and win outright. While the Texan offensive line struggled last week, the Jets offensive line has struggled all season long. The Texans will likely lean more heavily on the run against the stout Jets defense/secondary this evening. On the other side of the ball, I expect the red-hot Texans defense to shut the Jets offense down for the most part, leading to another frustrating evening for Aaron Rodgers on the way to another Texans win.
