The Lions have an important divisional matchup next week against the Packers. Would you prefer them facing Jordan Love or Malik Willis?
As the Detroit Lions get ready for a pivotal NFC North matchup against the Green Bay Packers, it remains to be seen who will get the starting nod at quarterback between Jordan Love and Malik Willis. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Jordan Love is considered “day-to-day” with a groin injury. The Packers are optimistic and believe he has a shot to play on Sunday.
Today’s Question of the Day is…
Would you rather the Lions face Jordan Love or Malik Willis on Sunday?
My answer: Jordan Love.
I would much rather see the Lions play the Packers at their best, and while Malik Willis has done an admirable job of leading the Packers to a 3-0 record during his games under center, Jordan Love is still the best quarterback in Green Bay.
In Love’s six starts, the Packers have a 4-2 record, but he hasn’t exactly looked like the same guy who finished last season as one of the most efficient passers in the league. In his last eight games of the 2023 regular season, Love threw 18 touchdowns and just one interception. Through six games in 2024, Love has thrown 15 touchdowns, but has thrown at least one interception in each game, with nine total.
With that being said, the Packers offense should not be written off, no matter who is under center. In fact, their offense currently ranks fifth in offensive DVOA, right behind the Lions (fourth). The Packers have the fifth ranked passing offense in DVOA and the seventh ranked rushing offense.
